YVC will be serving again with Shawnee County Parks and Recreation Department at Lake Shawnee. Their vision is to partner alongside citizens to develop and manage accessible, walkable parks, recreation facilities and programs through a collaborative leadership process that provides a long-term perspective for how parks and recreation will impact the livability and economic value of living in the city and county. Volunteers will be cleaning up litter around Lake Shawnee to help keep the ecosystems healthier and safer for people.
- YVC projects are open to all youth ages 11-18
- Youth volunteers will need to bring their own lunch each day.
- Transportation to and from the project will not be provided.
- Youth volunteers will need to wear their YVC summer shirt each day (provided for free on the first day of projects). If you would like to purchase an additional YVC shirt, you may do so on the "Select Your Projects" page.
